Without a doubt, the island of Bali features the widest range of accommodations and lodging anywhere in Indonesia. From the $5 per night cheap digs to the luxury villas renting for up to $4,000 per night, Bali has it all. In the past decade or so, Bali has become one of the more popular destinations in the world where luxury resorts and private villas are concerned. The following are our choices for the 3 most outstanding resorts in Bali.
Located in the city of Ubud, where numerous 5-star hotels and resorts are all clustered en masse, the Samaya Bali features well-appointed, air conditioned guest rooms equipped with a large TV, satellite channels, and WiFi internet access. The on-site day spa offers a wide range of beauty therapy and massage treatments for some guests while other guests can just relax in the hotel’s serene garden setting. Additionally, there is sauna as well as a spa and wellness center to be enjoyed or you can spend time outdoors swimming in the outdoor pool and shedding a few pounds in the steam room.
Purist Villas and Spa
Although this is one of the smaller boutique hotels and resorts, it is rated as one of the finest establishments in Ubud. Seven private, unique villas house the suites, all of which feature a combination of luxury and the more traditional elements. Three of these villas are equipped with private pools and separate huts furnished with cushions and mattresses. The other four villas feature a minimalist style with limestone flooring and furnished with a number of Balinese artifacts.
Modern comforts and traditional elements characterize the Ametis Villas, but don’t let that fool you. This is a very distinctive and sophisticated resort. It features 14 guestrooms, all of which are furnished with the most essential amenities needed by leisurely travelers. All of the conveniences and facilities that you would expect from any luxury 5-star resort are provided by this establishment. The many on-site facilities include a private beach as well as massage and spa treatments.

For those individuals who have an adventurous spirit and love the great outdoors, canyoning and whitewater rafting are two of the best activities for the “adrenalin junkie” and Bali is the place to experience this. Adventure and Spirit Canyoning Tours is the ultimate combination of outdoor adventuring and sport including a variety of activities and techniques that include:
• abseiling (rappelling)
• sliding down slopes
• whitewater swimming
In some canyon areas, the whitewater follows a natural course and is suitable for individuals from 8 to 65 years old provided they are able to swim and are in reasonably sound health. Currently, there are three tours of varying difficulty and duration that Adventure And Spirit Canyoning Tours currently offers.
Most importantly, this is an excellent vacation experience for families with children. There are three tours to consider:
Kali Kali Tour – this is the recommended trip for beginners who want an introduction to canyoning. The many caves, descents, jumps, short rappels, volcanic gorges, and water slides provides the participant with plenty of experience and fun. There are a number of sulfur and water basins along the way while the descent lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 to 30 minutes.
Kalimudah Canyon Tour – for those who are anxious to experience canyoning and learn more about the sport, this is the ideal tour. It takes place year round in a popular area known as “GitGit” and features natural warm springs and volcanic rock covered with plants. The sporty descent of this tour is a discovery experience that you cannot achieve from books.
Kerenkali Canyon Tour – for a sportier experience, this tour is an extension of the Kalimudah Canyon Tour listed above. The first segment of the journey consists of a series of activities that are described in the paragraphs above while the second segment features rappel descents that are more exciting and sportier including a waterfall descent of 65 feet (20 meters).

June 4th, 2013 Bali, Indonesia Prepares For Miss World 2013 Competition
The island of Bali has long been recognized as one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world because of its archaeological, cultural, and historical attractions. Its diverse landscape of barren volcanic hillsides, hills and mountains, lush rice terraces, pristine beaches, and rugged coastlines provide the visitor with an ideal tropical setting. Yet the many Bali residents are deeply spiritual and uniquely cultural. In addition to these factors, 2013 should prove to be a notable year as Bali is hosting the Miss World competition.
In April of 2012, the Indonesian media officially reported that Denpasar, Bali had been selected as the site for the 2013 competition. Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika and the Miss World Organization chairwoman Julia Morley attended the interview and fielded questions from the media. The event is scheduled to last the entire month of September, 2013 so the celebrations and festivities should be evident throughout. The Governor is hopeful that the event will draw even more tourist attention to the island.
Most importantly, this is the first time that Indonesia will be hosting the Miss World contest, although they have bid for it in the past. Bali’s diverse culture and natural beauty provide the perfect backdrop for the competition. It is estimated that 131 different contestants from around the world will be participating in Miss World 2013. Initially, the event’s organization did an assessment of the island in order to start preparing for the event. Apparently, a number of countries are supporting the organization’s decision to hold the event in Bali.
In addition to hosting the 2013 Miss World competition, it is anticipated that tourism will increase as more attention will be drawn to the island as a result. After all, Miss World herself is considered to be an international ambassador. The Governor thanked the organization for selecting Bali as this will add to the wide range of celebrations, events, and other festivities that are held on the island on an annual basis.
