Kuta Karnival 2013: The full Balinese experience

Posted by: | Posted on: Wednesday, September 4, 2013 | 0 comment

This October, the magnificent Kuta beach, with its renowned fine-grained sand, will once again host the annual Kuta Karnival, an event that gathers tourists from all over in celebration of the culture of Bali and its role as an international destination. Concerts, the Bali Food Festival, cultural roadshows, kite flying displays, surf competitions, all-out partying and a lot more await attendees. If you want the 360-degree Kuta Karnival experience, better book hotels in Bali early on to avoid missing out on this awesome feast for the senses.

Now in its seventh year, Bali’s go-to international event promises to be bigger and more eventful than the last, with more activities lined up than ever.  Start your day by indulging in Balinese cuisine at the Bali Food Festival, a staple in the Karnival, while enjoying the intricate entries in the sand sculpture competition. If you want to break bread in peace, check out the restaurants scattered throughout the beach and in the hotels in Bali. Invite nostalgia and participate in the kiteflying event or check out the releasing of turtle hatchlings to Kuta’s warm waters.  However, if you’re an adrenaline junkie looking for another hit, go straight to the surf competition. Kuta beach’s world-famous waves attract thousands of surfers, local and international, every year. You might just catch a glimpse of legendary champion Kelly Slater pulling off the smoothest set you’ll ever see or Jordy Smith ripping curls like there’s no tomorrow.

If you need to take a break from all the excitement, go to any of the hotels in Bali and get yourself a yoga and full body spa treatment.  So when the sun goes down and the party goes up, your body will be ready for an intense all-nighter.

Whether you’re looking for some culture, searching for the perfect wave, or aching to party, you’ll totally have a blast at Kuta Karnival.
