Legian is almost indistinguishable from the other popular nearby tourist spots, but located between Kuta in the south and Seminyak to the north. Legian offers easy access to a multitude of shops, restaurants and bars but a slightly more relaxed environment. Generally, the beachfront is in better shape and less hectic due to it being inaccessible to vehicles.
The North part of Legian borders Seminyak at Double Six beach and offers a bit of an escape from the crowds and a popular surfing beach. In the South, Legian practically melts into Kuta roughly at Jalan Benesari but there appears to be no official border. Most of the popular Legian hotels are on or close to the beach with a long, paved walking path at the beachfront that allows for pleasant strolls and easy access to dining and entertainment. Your hotel in Legian will be about a 20-minute taxi ride from the airport.
